ABOUT

Jacob’s photographic practice is the amalgamation of the his creative endeavors and a lifetime living in Chicago. From the various mediums practiced in his early life at Marwen Arts center for public school students, to documenting shows of the city’s up and coming and tight knit creative community, Jacob’s work is heavily influenced by the moments and individuals in his environment.

Jacob’s work hovers between editorial portraiture and a photojournalistic style of image making. His photographs move freely between these two styles and often mesh together, capturing moments that that have conversational and candid elements simultaneously. Whether they were made in studio or snapped haphazardly on a night out, Jacob work evokes a sense of nostalgia and belonging, while highlighting the subjects own experience in a collaborative way.
